For the first six years, I worked as a full-time classroom teacher
(Kindergarten and then, 2nd grade). In 2010, I became the part-time
assistant administrator, which became the full-time assistant administrator in 2011. I look forward to working closely with Mr.
Grove and the rest of the staff this year. I live in Battle Ground and attend Church on the
Rock. I have two daughters who currently attend FFCS. Firm Foundation
has been a great environment in which to work, and I am happy to be a
part of the team again this year as we seek and strive to do God's
will all day, every day, in all areas of school life.
The opportunity to serve students, teachers, staff and families through development (i.e. fund raising) efforts and public relations is an absolute blessing. God is good all the time, and all the time God is good. My professional background encompasses almost thirty years, beginning with a teaching degree from Oregon State University. Post-college, I worked in the political arena for several years. I then joined a wonderful architectural firm, eventually being promoted to Partner. Several years ago I left the firm to begin my own marketing, management, and public relations firm. My children both attend FFCS, and my family is very involved at Glenwood Community Church. I consider it a privilege to be a regular part of the FFCS team, working to support our children becoming meaningful contributors to our communities as they honor God with their life choices, their service, and their learning as they develop a Christian worldview. My name is Alice Johnson. It has been a joy to be Firm Foundation's business manager and accountant since March 2007.
I grew up on a dairy farm in northeastern South Dakota, and received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Mount Marty College in Watertown, South Dakota. Prior to joining Firm Foundation, I was a staff accountant for an electronics manufacturer for six years. I moved to Washington in 2006 and married my wonderful husband, Jon, in October 2007. We live in Battle Ground and are members of the Apostolic Lutheran Church in Clatskanie, Oregon. We enjoy gardening, travel, and bargain shopping.
It is a blessing to work in an environment where the administration, coworkers, parents, and students profess a common faith in Jesus Christ. It is an honor to be called to assist the school and to help our families manage finances according to biblical principles.
Hi, my name is Lori Bouslaugh. I am very blessed to be the Office Manager here at FFCS. This is a wonderful working and learning environment where God’s love and grace is poured out daily by the staff, parents and children alike. It is a joy to see many of the children’s faces here that I have previously taught in Pre-K or 2nd grade during Sunday school at Glenwood Community Church. I have over 25 years of office management and administration experience, most recently in the Children’s Ministry department at Glenwood Community Church.
My husband, Rick, and I live in Hockinson. We have 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 7 great-nieces and great-nephews that we are grandparents to. The only children we have left at home are our two German Shepherds. Aside from spending time with our grandchildren some of my favorite things to do include camping, fishing, photography, graphic design and just about anything else that involves being outdoors enjoying God’s creation.

Hello! My name is Marlo Hossler and I joined the FFCS family August of 2011 as a teachers’ assistant. I have always had a love for children, so I am excited for the opportunity to work with students of various ages. Now that I am no longer home schooling my two boys, I felt God leading me to a job that allowed me to assist children in a Christ-like learning environment.
I have lived in Clark County since 1999 with my husband, two sons and (since 2003) our beloved dog, whom I like to spoil. I enjoy various crafts such as stamping and card making, watching old romance, western and mystery movies, cooking and baking. A more recent hobby I’ve begun is bird watching in my backyard. I have several feeders and baths set up. It’s been great entertainment for me and the dog. Outdoor activities I enjoy, Pacific NorthWET weather permitting, include walking, biking, day hikes and beach trips. Someday I’d love to own a canoe, so I can add canoeing to the list.
Our family is actively involved in a local church. My husband and I enjoy teaching children’s Sunday School. I also volunteer my time in the nursery and for a MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group. Every fifth Saturday, along with members of my adult Sunday School class, I cook breakfast at Share House, a local shelter for the needy in the Vancouver area.
I look forward to the many opportunities ahead for loving and serving the students and their families at Firm Foundation.
