There are many things to look forward to in sixth grade. For example, students go to Outdoor School for a week and learn about God’s creation right in the midst of it! At Outdoor School, students will wade in a river, row a canoe on a lake, hike the road to Calvary, sing campfire songs, and much more. It is an experience students will surely not forget. Later in the year, the class might take a trip to Omsi’s Kendall Planetarium and watch a star show, or get up close and personal with a composite volcano, Mount St. Helens! Either is quite exciting. Sixth grade also dawns the transition into middle school, and with that students begin taking elective classes. Students still have the same classroom teacher for most academic subjects, but different teachers instruct the class during electives, computers, and PE. It’s fun to switch classes! Truly, there is much to look forward to in sixth grade at FFCS.
