| FUTURE PLANS The existing FFCS school campus has been developed in several phases. The first phase (Building A) was completed in March 2001 and includes six classrooms, a multi purpose room, kitchen, art room, offices and outdoor playground. The multi purpose room is used for chapels, lunch, and various other activities. The second phase was the construction our 13,000 sq. ft. Building B. The completion of this phase allowed us to increase our capacity and enhance our educational program. Building B houses our gymnasium/activity room, science lab, library/media center, music room/stage, and ten additional classrooms. The gymnasium/activity room is used for programs that include assemblies, PE, recess, and extracurricular functions/events. With the completion of this project, we have expanded our capacity and currently serve over 370 students. The next phase of work encompasses a larger multi-purpose room and a four-classroom addition to Building A. During the 2006-2007 school year we began our high school program, offering 9th grade. The 2010 year included a major milestone—our first graduating 12th grade class. Initial facility planning was begun for spaces to house our expanding high school program, including a future high school building. FFCS is the recipient of a generous grant from Murdock Charitable Trust. An outright grant of $70,000 was received in August of 2007, and a matching grant of $100,000 was awarded, contingent on our ability to raise $100,000 in donations of cash, materials and labor. This work is essentially complete, and consisted of additional work on the gymnasium, stage and music room, including lighting, sound system and curtains, conversion of staff work area to additional classrooms, and much-needed science equipment and upgrade to the operating system. We are blessed by an expanded library and computer lab thanks to the efforts of our students and staff at our recent Jog-A-Thon. Part of the proceeds from this year's Jog-A-Thon will also be allocated to the Building Fund for costs associated with future capital projects. In addition to our campus development plans, other major activities include obtaining Accreditation by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). |
